I have home building running through my veins. My father, grand father and uncle were builders and developers.  Since the 1920's, the Pryne name has been synonymous with quality home building in the Southern Tier of New York State.

I established Steve Pryne Builder in 1987 after working as a project manager/superintendent building high-end apartment communities in Houston, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale for 11 years. I've kept my father's advice to keep my business small and under control. We can give our clients the personal attention they deserve. With a typical production home building firm, which requires superintendents and office staff, the builder becomes less a builder and more an administrator. This creates a chain of command that tends to confuse the client. We build only 3-4 homes per year so we can give our clients the attention and quality they deserve.

I pride myself in keeping abreast of changes in the industry and am especially pleased that "green" building and energy efficiency is becoming more mainstream.  I've been certified a five star green builder by the Austin Energy Green Building Program.

Besides receiving my BA in 1974 and attending numerous courses at the Graduate Builders Institute, I have been a Parade of Homes Judge (Syracuse 1993), NYSTAR certified energy efficient builder and a Certified Construction Inspector (#3297, Assoc. of Construction Inspectors). I am a member of the National Home Builders Association and the local Texas Capitol Area Builders Assoc.  Licensed Texas Builder #26526 as well as a licensed Real Estate agent (#522421) for Starlight Realty.
